Brooke Dellavedova joined the Major Projects department of Maurice
Blackburn in 1999 and was appointed to Principal in 2010.
Since joining the firm she has acted in the following cases:
(more air cargo to first) The Air Cargo class action against major
international airlines in relation to the provision of
international air freight services
The (delete proposed) class action against National Australia Bank
in respect of alleged non-disclosures regarding its portfolio of
collateralized debt obligations (CDOs)
The Rubber Chemicals class action involving an alleged global price
fixing cartel
The Vitamins class action. Brooke worked for seven years on this
case, the first successful class action for victims of price fixing
in Australian history. The case involved an international price
fixing and market rigging cartel in the vitamins industry.
The Thanh Phu class action - a claim for more than 150 people who
suffered salmonella food poisoning in January 2003
The Old England Hotel class action - also a food poisoning
matter
Brooke has written, presented and drafted submissions to Government
on a range of competition and class action issues, and co-authored
the Australian chapter of the American Antitrust Institute's
International Handbook On Private Enforcement Of Competition Law.
She is a Guest Lecturer in the Master of Laws program at the
University of Melbourne.
Brooke has a particular interest in women's justice. She is
currently a Convenor of the firm's Women's Law Section and she was
formerly a Director of Australian Women Lawyers and Assistant
Convenor of Victorian Women Lawyers. Brooke is also an active and
founding member of the firm's Sustainability Group.
Brooke Dellavedova joined the Major Projects department of

Brooke is also part of the legal team representing indigenous
land owners in their Federal Court challenge to the placement of a
nuclear waste dump on Muckaty Station in the
Northern Territory.
Brooke has written, presented and drafted submissions to
Government on a range of competition and class action issues, and
co-authored the Australian chapter of the American Antitrust
Institute's International Handbook On Private Enforcement Of
Competition Law. She is a member of the Competition and Consumer
Committee of the Law Council of Australia, and a Guest Lecturer in
the Master of Laws program at the University of Melbourne and the
Bachelor of Laws program at Victoria University.
